Vet Health Products are substances such as vitamins and minerals, herbal remedies, homeopathic medicines, traditional medicines (such as Chinese medicines), probiotics, and other products like amino acids and essential fatty acids. To meet the increasing demand for Veterinary Health Products (VHPs) in Canada, Health Canada established Notification Program in which companies only need to notify a Veterinary Health Product for sale in Canada.

OHSS can assist veterinary pharmaceutical companies to obtain a notification number to commercialize their products.

The manufacture, sale, and import of livestock feed and feed ingredients in Canada are regulated by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) under the Feeds Act and regulations. Every feed or feed ingredient intended for animal consumption must be shown to be safe to livestock, to humans consuming the animal products, workers, environment, and be effective for their intended purpose.

Feeds include, but are not limited to: amino acids, antioxidants, carbohydrates, condiments, enzymes, fats, minerals, non-protein nitrogen products, proteins or vitamins, or pelletizing, colouring, foaming or flavouring agents.

OHSS can assist feed manufacturers with pre-submission meetings, assembling the regulatory dossier, and regulatory submissions.
